In October, We Wear Pink

Beurer stands for two things: health and well-being. The goal of our brand is to ensure that you look and feel great - physically, mentally, and emotionally. While we pride ourselves on engineering various health products to keep you healthy, it's important we discuss why prevention is essential. Prevention is taking steps to avoid disease or to stop the progression of developing the disease. It allows you to either avoid becoming ill, or it allows you to seek treatment promptly, reducing complications. This would definitely lower any medical expenses.

Why learn about prevention now?

The month of October has long been recognized as Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Breast cancer affects 1 in 8 women in the United States. Even though there are many diseases that deserve attention, this month was intended to bring awareness to Breast Cancer, which is one of the most common cancers among American women. The pink ribbon is symbolic of this month because it represents the fear of breast cancer, hope for the future, and those who donate in support of the movement.

Time To Get Educated

It's important to visit your primary care physician once a year and get all the necessary tests done. Your doctor will advise when you should get a mammogram done, which is the most efficient way to detect it.

Although women are more susceptible to breast cancer, men can also get it. It also typically affects those over the age of 50, but anyone younger can also be at risk.

Here are some ways to lower your risk:

  • Exercise regularly.

  • Limit your alcohol intake

  • Breastfeed your baby, if possible.

Please note that we, at Beurer, are not medical professionals. After thorough research, this is some useful information we gathered. Nonetheless, this is not to be taken as a substitute for medical advice.
